Description

Artificial intelligence and emerging technologies are transforming how we create clinical documentation — bringing powerful new tools alongside fresh challenges. This presentation will feature live demonstrations of an ambient AI scribe and other non-AI charting support applications. We will also explore how Open Notes regulations are reshaping our documentation practices, and why thoughtfully evaluating the rationale behind every element of our clinical notes has never been more important.

1 Contact Hour (New York Board of Psychology)

Disclosures from Dr. Given: I have been working on a project, Scripted Charts, which currently supports some of my colleagues in generating text for progress notes. I will be demonstrating this along with another non-AI scribe clinical assistant, Note Designer.

Learning Objectives:

1. Describe the potential impact of sharing clinical notes and electronic health records with clients.
2. Explain due diligence steps to take before using ambient AI scribes for clinical documentation assistance.
3. Discuss deskilling and how AI encourages the loss of skills.
